Who we are

Classics is an audiobook service for classic literature. This policy explains what information the Classics app and this website collect, why, and the choices you have.

What we collect

Account: when you sign in with email, Google or Apple we receive your email address and, if you provide it, your name. Sign-in is handled by Firebase Authentication (Google).

Your library and listening: the works you save, where you stopped in each chapter, and how much of the free listening allowance you used. We store this so it follows you across devices.

Purchases: subscriptions and purchases are processed by Apple or Google and managed through RevenueCat. We receive whether you have an active subscription or access to a work. We never see or store your payment card.

Waitlist: if you join the waitlist on this website we store your email address, and which form you used, to tell you when we launch.

Website visits: this website uses Vercel Web Analytics to count visits, pages viewed and where visitors come from, in aggregate. It does not use cookies or track you across sites, and it does not collect your email address. When you join the waitlist we also record, without your email, which form was used.

Diagnostics: if the app crashes, we may receive technical information (device model, operating system, app version, the error) to fix the problem. It is not used for advertising.

On your device: downloaded audio, reading preferences and playback settings stay on your device.

How we use it

To provide the service (sign-in, your library, resuming where you left off, unlocking what you bought), to keep it working and secure, to tell waitlist members about the launch, and to improve the app.

We do not sell your personal information and we do not show third-party advertising.

Who we share it with

Only with the service providers that run the product for us: authentication (Firebase / Google), purchase management (RevenueCat, Apple, Google), hosting and storage, crash reporting and website analytics (Vercel). They may process your data only to provide their service to us.

We may disclose information if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep your account data while your account exists. When you delete your account, your library, listening progress and access records are erased, and your sign-in identity is removed. Waitlist emails are kept until launch or until you ask us to remove them.

Your choices and rights

Delete your account: in the app, go to Profile → Account & subscription → Delete account. This erases your data as described above.

Downloads: you can remove downloaded audio at any time in Profile → Downloads.

Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, export or erase your data, or to object to some processing. To exercise them, contact us using the address below.

Children

Classics is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date above, and tell you in the app when the change is significant.
